About Eric

Mr. Eric Weiss on keyboards, guitar and backing vocals.  Eric has always had a great appreciation for live music and yet is a relative newcomer to performing.  A few years ago, at the suggestion of a relative, he signed up for music lessons and, just 6 days later, found himself playing live in a band at Arts, Beats and Eats in Royal Oak.   A year later, he founded the classic rock cover band Afraid of Clowns where he served as lead vocalist, keyboard and guitarist.  He continues to be involved in that project but is thrilled to be part of The Sympathy Orchestra.

About Jim

Mr. Jim Rowan on Lead Vocals. Born and Raised in SE Michigan, Jim is truly a Bach to Rock kind of guy. Fresh off a performance of Mozart’s Requiem with the Oakland University Symphonic Chorus, he truly brings love and passion to every single performance. A true student of the music world, Jim has played and studied with some of Detroit’s top musicians. A former Music Director at Pine Hill Congregational Church and the former Bass player for one of downriver’s finest cover bands, The Wreckage. Nowadays, you can find him back home with The Sympathy Orchestra and an up and coming original project called Time 2 Find, where he is the Bass player and Lead Vocalist. Peace, Love and Music!

About Eduardo

Mr. Eduardo Perez on bass, backing vocals and the occasional lead vocal. In addition to his wonderful bass playing and vocals, Eduardo brings a wealth of performing experience to the stage. Outside of TSO, you can also find Eduardo in the band The Motor Zs and when he returns to his native Brazil, in the Apple Band , which he was a founding member and has performed with them for many, many years.

About Don

Mr. Don Ruzek on electric and acoustic guitars. Don’s father was a symphonic musician. Don started playing guitar at age 6 and played clubs and events throughout high school in a rock trio. In the 80's, Don was a full time player with the band “Ten Ten” on guitar and keyboards, recording albums for Chrysalis Records and touring North America and Europe. He took a hiatus until 2015 when he started playing and writing music again and eventually released an instrumental Progressive Rock album called X Paths on Luminol Records in 2021. Outside of TSO, Don plays in his original music band, Ruzek and also with Phill Profitt & His Fast Fortunes. When not playing music, Don and his wife are art lovers frequenting the DIA, and also work with wildlife rehabilitation in their community.
