The Sympathy Orchestra was founded in 2009 by Scott Rochon. The band has been playing live in the metro Detroit music scene (and sometimes beyond) since 2010. Todd Villeneuve joined and David Marquis returned in January of 2017. Alan Gregory and Anne Kadrovich joined in February of 2017. Don Ruzek joined in March of 2020. Thank you to all of the TSO fans, friends and family for their ongoing support.

The driving force behind TSO. In addition to his drumming duties, Scott creates and triggers the samples used in TSO performances. Scott is also currently writing an original concept album piece.
Alan provides the thunderous low end frequencies of TSO. He also handles backing vocals and acts as the band's videographer. Alan also runs the sound when we need to provide our own sound system.
March 25, 2020 - The Old West End Festival has been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It may be rescheduled for a date later this year, depending on how quickly this crisis passes.
March 15, 2020 - We are confirmed for our 5th consecutive appearance at the Old West End Festival in Toledo on Saturday, June 6th. We will be playing in the Arboretum, next to the beer tent, from 7:30pm to 9:00pm. More details can be found on our Concert Dates page.
March 8, 2020 - We are pleased to announce that Mr. Don Ruzek has accepted our invitation to join The Sympathy Orchestra. Don will be joining David in the guitar department. Don is involved in several projects and brings a wealth of experience to TSO.

Special thanks to those of you who stayed through the entire night with us. Thank you to Jordan for having us back in his place once again. November 18, 2019 - We are taking a break over the next few weeks for the Thanksgiving holiday. We have had a very productive month, with no less than 10 new songs being worked on. We are looking forward to bringing these songs, plus many others to you at The Plymouth Roc on Saturday, February 8th, 2020.
August 15, 2019 - We want to thank the Display Group for having us play at their open house. They had an amazing stage set up for us, including a wonderful light show.
July 30, 2019 - Still coming down from tonight's show in Handy Park in Redford. What an amazing audience! Thank you so much for coming to the show. It was our pleasure to entertain you. We would like to thank once again, George Matick Chevrolet and the Redford Rotary for sponsoring our show and to the Redford Township Leisure Services for booking us and to Michael for the fantastic introduction. We had a wonderful time and we hope to be back on the Summer Concert Series schedule next year.
June 9, 2019 - Thank you to everyone who came out to support us at the Motor City Pride Festival in Hart Plaza last night.
Mother Nature was much kinder to us this weekend than she was the previous weekend. We couldn't have asked for better weather. Party cloudy with a nice breeze. The setting was wonderful with the Detroit skyline, the river and Canada all within sight from the stage. We had a great time and we are looking forward to coming back next year.
June 2, 2019 - Thank you to everyone who braved the hail, rain, thunder, lightning and mud (lots of mud!) to catch our performance at the OWE Festival last night. Your support means the world to us. Thank you to Scott and Melissa Ramsey and The Old West End Association for having us back once again. It's always a special event to be part of, even when Mother Nature doesn't cooperate. We hope to see you all again next year.

June 2, 2018 - What an amazing audience at the Old West End Festival today! This was not only the best audience in the 3 years that we have played the festival, but the best audience that we have EVER played to. Thank you so much for the wonderful response.
